Michael K. A. Gurtler is the founder and President of Gurtler Bros. Consultants, Inc., and enjoys over 30 years of experience in the inspection and constuction business. Mr. Gurtler earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1978 from Tulane University. Mr. Gurtler presently holds Louisiana Licenses as a Home Inspector (License No. 10086) and as a General Contractor (License No. 30228). He also is a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI Certification No. 102355) and is certified Level I Thermographer. Mr. Gurtler has engaged in numerous investigations in connection with insurance-related issues in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and has been recognized as an expert witness in Louisiana on a variety of construction-related issues.


Ashley van der Meulen, is a licensed Louisiana State Home Inspector (License No. 10230), an Exterior Design Institute Certified EIFS Inspector (Certification No. LA19) and a Level II Certified Thermographer with Snell Infrared. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University where he graduated Cum Laude. Mr. van der Meulen has performed over 2,000 residential and commercial inspections and is engaged in moisture investigations on a regular basis.
